Our journey to Dhangad Fort, a lesser-known yet historical gem in Maharashtra, was an adventure filled with challenges, breathtaking views, and a sense of achievement.
As a group of trekking enthusiasts, we planned this trek well in advance. Dhangad Fort, located near Lonavala, is a small fort but holds great historical significance. We packed essentials like water, snacks, trekking shoes, and raincoats, as it was monsoon season.
We reached the base village, Shivajinagar, early in the morning. The cool breeze and lush green surroundings set the perfect mood. The trail was short but steep, covered with slippery rocks and thick forest. The real challenge was climbing the final rock patch, which required careful steps and teamwork.
After an hour of determined trekking, we reached the top. The view from the fort was breathtaking—lush valleys, mist-covered mountains, and the backwaters of Pawna Lake in the distance. We explored the ruins, clicked pictures, and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere.
The journey taught us resilience, teamwork, and the beauty of nature. Despite the slippery path and challenging climb, we succeeded in reaching the top safely. It was a perfect blend of adventure and history, making the trek a huge success.
As we descended, we carried not just memories but also a deep appreciation for Maharashtra’s hidden gems. Dhangad Fort was more than just a trek; it was an experience of a lifetime! 🚀🏔️
